Good evening, Gay Do312 reader! Happy to have you back with me for yet another newsletter. This past weekend in Chicago was just lovely! I saw a dear friend’s parents, had some amazing brunch in Wicker Park, shopped around, danced at Queen!, and performed at Hydrate! No complaints over here! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as well. Summer isn’t over yet, and there are some amazing events coming down the pipeline and being announced, so let’s get started!

Robyn will be in Chicago for her Sexistential Tour on September 12th! The Swedish pop-sensation hits the stage at United Center, and you can enter our giveaway for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the show!

Labor Day is right around the corner, which means the summer is coming to a close! However, as Chicagoans, we’re in denial about that. Like the poet laureate, Zara Larsson, says, “Summer isn’t over yet!” There’s plenty of amazing stuff to do over the course of this long weekend, and Do312 is here to give you the rundown, the deals, and the promise of a sickening weekend you won’t forget. So, happy Labor Day and happy event hunting!

GOOD GOLLY, MISS DOLLY!

This week, we said goodbye to Dolly Parton. She passed away at the age of 80 in Tennessee. As we say goodbye to her, I believe that we, as queer people, must do our absolute best to remember to uplift and practice her legacy of kindness and love for our fellow man. Reach out to someone you think may need it, give someone on the street a dollar, read a book, and kiss and hug your family and friends. I know the world is a scary, weird, and off-putting place right now, but “Like the light of a clear blue morning, everything is going to be alright. It’s gonna be okay.”

Well, that’s it, girl! One more weekend, one more newsletter! Thanks once again for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Make sure you get a head start on your Labor Day Weekend plans, grab a ticket to Nip Slip x Mama’s House this weekend at smartbar, and check out more information on WERQ! LGBTQ+ Career Fair and add it to your calendar! This is Meli signing off. TTYL XOXO ❤️
