Hello there, dear reader! It is me, Amélia J, and I am back here with the last newsletter of the Pride season! This Pride has been amazing, and it continues this week with some stellar events! I’ll be out and about partying the weekend away! I’ll be making some of those outings as Helvetikah Blak, but I’ll mostly just be living my best gay life and attending my favorite events! I’m sure you’ve got your own gay agenda for this weekend, so allow me to make some suggestions!

First off, let’s start with Lollapalooza! Coming our way July 30th to August 2nd to Grant Park, it’s the music festival of the year in Chicago! Headliners include Charli XCX, Tate McRae, Lorde, and MORE! Enter our lovely giveaway for chance to snag a pair of 4-Day GA Passes for you and your bestie or boo!

JUST ANNOUNCED

• The cabaret event of the year is back! June 27th at The Understudy get ready for Ari Gato Attempts to Share the Spotlight and a night full of drag, singing and belly-laughing. You won’t want to miss this! Sit front row and laugh, cry, and sing!

• The Millennium Art Festival, a free street festival, brought to you by Amdur Productions comes to Michigan Avenue & Lake Street this Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and June 28th. 125 curated artists, tasty street foods, live music, and cold beer! Enter to win $100 in gift cards!* 

• Saturday, June 27th, come to Pizza Lobo: Andersonville for Sauced & Saucy! A late brunch drag show with an amazing cast of drag queens and even better pizza! Walk-ins are welcome but you can get the slice here!

• Everywhere Social Club presents Full Spectrum! At a secret location in Edgewater, on June 26th, this alcohol-free oasis and lineup will have you dancing all day! Two dance floors. Six DJs. One yoga class. Zero hangovers. Buy your bandana to gain entry to this one-of-a-kind event!

• The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce brings back Ravenswood on Tap for all your beer and spirit needs! Join them on July 18th and 19th for the two-day outdoor festival you won’t wanna miss! Enter our giveaway for a chance to get a little day drunk!*

THE LAST DRAG SHOWS THIS PRIDE SEASON

Pride is coming to a close, and I wanted to bring attention to something important! As a working drag queen, I have noticed, not only here in Chicago but everywhere, that queer/gay bars, drag shows, and more are closing and going away at a rapid rate! These spaces, these events, these performers and entertainers NEED you more than ever! The world is expensive! Believe me, I have noticed. But if you can afford to, make sure you buy a ticket, patron the events that pique your interest, and pay the cover at the door. At the end of the day, we are all we have! Take notice of these drag events coming up for the last days of Pride, and don’t be afraid to peek at our Guide To Chicago Drag!

• Dama Productions is throwing their Lipstick Lounge: Latina Pride Party at The Annoyance Theatre this Saturday, June 27th, for a celebration of all things Latina and lesbian! But you don’t have to be either of those things to celebrate alongside them! Get you “Ruby Woo” and get your tickets for the Lipstick Lounge!

• Continue celebrating Pride by supporting Queer-Owned Chicago Businesses!
